Backpacks to School 2023

Provide backpacks and school supplies to low-income children and teens.

The school doors are closing in a few shorts weeks as the 2022-2023 school year comes to a close. At The Sharing Shelf we are gearing up for Fall 2023 and the start of the school in September.

We invite you to join our efforts to fill 1,500 backpacks and ensure that children and teens return to the classroom with the tools they need to learn and feel confident about themselves.

Each summer we buy new backpacks and fill them with grade appropriate school supplies – crayons, markers and composition books are a must for the elementary school children while binders, 3-subject notebooks, graph paper and calculators round out our high school packs. We invest in quality backpacks designed to last the rigors of any child or teen’s school day.

Your support is especially critical this summer. The cost of supplies has increased significantly – impacting both our budget and the budgets of Westchester’s most economically vulnerable parents and families. We need YOUR financial support to make sure we can fulfill our goal.

Will you join us? Buy a backpack, donate supplies and drop off at one of the local businesses working with us (our list is still in formation but here are a few: Miller’s Toys in Mamaroneck, Mama Village RX & Wellness, The Pamplemousse Project in White Plains), or become a sponsor (email us at info@sharingshelf for more information).
