Spring arrives in less than three weeks, and with it comes one of the most pressing needs of the year: clothing for children and teenagers in need across our region. This season, the demand for our Clothing Bank has surged, and your donations are the only way we can keep up.
Every spring, families in our community face the same challenge: kids have outgrown their winter wardrobes, but warm-weather clothing is out of reach. That’s where you come in.
So far this year, demand for our program has increased 12% compared to the same period last year. We have already received 1,126 requests for clothing, which is 124 more children than at this time last year.
That number is not a projection. It is a real count of real children from toddlers and school-age kids to teenagers who are waiting for clothing right now. If current trends continue, we are on track for the highest-demand spring season we have ever recorded. We need the community’s help urgently.
We are not looking for a specific size or a specific style. We need everything — and we need it now.
Here is a sample item of what we need:
- Infant and toddler clothing (newborn through size 4T)
- Children’s sizes XS through XL (boys and girls)
- Teen sizes (XS–XXL)
- Spring and summer essentials: t-shirts, shorts, lightweight pants, dresses
- Underwear and socks (new items only, please)
- Sneakers and sandals (gently used or new)
- Light jackets and rain gear for transitional spring weather
Please donate clean, gently used, or new clothing. Items should be free of stains, tears, or damage. When in doubt, ask yourself: would I give this to a friend’s child? If yes, we’ll gladly accept it.
