We were thrilled to have Joe Torres from ABC7NY visit The Sharing Shelf to shine a light on the growing crisis of clothing insecurity in Westchester. With demand at an all-time high, we’re working harder than ever to ensure children and teens have the essentials they need.
During his time with us, Joe toured our space, met with staff and volunteers, and learned firsthand how The Sharing Shelf addresses clothing insecurity for children and teens across Westchester County.
He heard stories from our team about the growing demand for essentials and how more families than ever are turning to The Sharing Shelf for help providing their children with clean, seasonally appropriate clothing, coats, and hygiene items. Joe also spent time in our Teen Boutique, where he saw how we create a dignified, empowering shopping experience that helps teens feel confident and cared for.
We are grateful for his genuine interest and for helping to shine a light on an often overlooked need in our community. His visit underscored the importance of our mission and the impact we can make when our community comes together to ensure every child and teen has what they need to learn, grow and reach their full potential.
