Donate Clothing

Please note – we are not accepting clothing from August 18 to September 8, 2026 while we focus on our Backpack to School program.

We accept donations of new and gently used clothing in all sizes, from baby clothes through adult XXL, to support the children and teens we serve across Westchester County.

Donated clothing should be clean, seasonally appropriate, and in ready-to-wear. Your donations are distributed directly to infants, children and teens through and partner organizations throughout Westchester. Please note that we do not wash or launder donations, so items should be freshly laundered and free of stains, rips, excessive wear, or strong odors.

The Sharing Shelf uses an eco-friendly approach to clothing donations. If your clothing is stained, torn, or “overly loved,” we have on-site textile recycling bins available to responsibly divert them from landfills.

Donations are accepted by appointment only. Use the link below to schedule your donation day.

If you prefer to shop online, you can support our work by purchasing essential items directly through our Target registry or Amazon wishlist which are updated regularly based on current inventory needs.

If you have any questions, please use the contact link on our website or email us at info@sharingshelf.org.

Clothing Pick-Up Service

We offer convenient clothing pick-ups once or twice a week, rotating neighborhood by neighborhood. Because capacity is limited, priority is given to households donating clothing for children and teens. Please note that we pick up clothing only, and there is a suggested donation of $10 to help cover the cost of this service.

Unlike many clothing pick-up programs that resell donated items to support their operations, The Sharing Shelf uses your donations locally to directly address clothing insecurity among children and teens in our community. Every bag you give helps us provide clean, seasonally appropriate clothing to families in need.

Note: This service is available only for individual donations in private homes. If you have organized a drive at work, school or in the community, please contact us at info@sharingshelf.org.
