The Sharing Shelf was founded by a volunteer relies on volunteers to carry out its mission of addressing clothing insecurity. Volunteers are essential in ensuring that children facing financial hardship have access to clothing and basic necessities with dignity and respect.

On-Site, volunteers assist with sorting and sizing incoming clothing donations, quality checking items, stocking racks and shelves, and organizing inventory so it is ready for distribution. Volunteers also prepare hygiene kits, diaper sets for babies, and seasonal item bundles.

Off-site, community based volunteer opportunities allow individuals, families, schools, and corporate groups to support our work by assembling kits, organizing drives, and assist with other seasonal efforts such as packing backpacks. These donations flow into our program and are distributed to children across the county. These flexible opportunities make it possible to volunteer from work, school, and home while directly supporting children and families in need.

Whether volunteering individually or as part of a group, volunteers are central to The Sharing Shelf’s ability to serve thousands of children and teens each year. Their time and commitment help ensure that every child we serve receives clothing and essentials that are appropriate, organized, and ready when they are needed.
