Clothing is more than a fashion statement. It’s a basic human and daily need.
The Sharing Shelf was founded to address clothing insecurity and meet the basic material needs of infants, children and teens living in poverty in our community.
To achieve this goal, we provide the children and teens we serve with a Wardrobe Pack brimming with seasonally appropriate clothing matched to a child’s sizing needs, including new socks and new underwear. During the cold winter months, we include a coat, hats, gloves and boots. Year-round, our Wardrobe Packs contain hygiene kits, packed with full-sized toiletries including period products for girls and menstruating individuals and diapers for babies and toddlers.
Each summer, we launch our Backpacks to School initiative to ensure economically vulnerable children and teens start the school year ready to learn with a new backpack and new school supplies.
We succeed because of you and your support is more critical than ever. Demand for our services has increased 135% since 2020. In 2022 to date, we have received 1,000 more requests than this time last year.
Join our efforts and help us build the self esteem of our youth and together we can reduce stress on struggling families.
Thank you in advance for your generosity!
