At The Sharing Shelf, we’ve seen the rise in childhood poverty firsthand. Requests for clothing in our Clothing Bank is climbing year after year.
- 2022: we received 4,365 requests for clothing
- 2023: we received 5,579 requests for clothing
- 2024 – we received 5,158 requests for our Clothing Bank as of 10/31/24), which is an increase of 11% YTD
In October, we received 841 and currently have 682 children who are waiting for clothing, with cold weather just beginning.
Your gift makes a difference. While donations of clothing and volunteerism time are critical to our mission, financial contributions give us the flexibility to meet rising demand and allow us to make strategic purchases where we have shortages and ensures we have new socks and new underwear as well as diapers, period products and hygiene.
