Our interns spotted this box, brimming with period supplies, at Rye Beach Pharmacy in Rye, NY. It’s one of more than 40 boxes that are popping up from Rye, Larchmont and Mamaroneck to White Plains, New Rochelle, and Armonk.
To date, we have collected an impressive 23,431 period products!
In 2024, The Sharing Shelf served 1,737 girls age 11-19. With the growth of demand in our Clothing Bank and Teen Boutique, we estimate that we will need over 135,000 pads this year to support the girls we serve.
Our Fill a Box. Period. campaign continues through June 30, 2025, but the effort to collect period products never ends. If you would like a box, please email Kate Levy and put “Interested in a Pink Box” in the subject line.
We also need volunteers to create and donate period kits – a reusable pouch with a small supply of pads – for Backpacks to School.
