Each summer, our Backpacks to School initiative provides new backpacks and school supplies to children and teens from kindergarten through high school in Westchester County from economically vulnerable families. Each backpack is packed with grade-appropriate supplies, helping students arrive on the first day of school prepared, confident, and ready to learn with the tools they need for the new school year.

Community support is essential to our Backpacks to School. Each year, individuals, local businesses, community groups, and corporations sponsor backpacks and donate school supplies, helping ensure children and teens start the school year prepared. Volunteers support the initiative through a series of projects beginning in mid-July, culminating in our annual backpack packing day in August.
