Diapers

The Sharing Shelf strategy for distributing diapers is built on a three-part system. This model was designed to reach individually identified children and address unmet needs at the community level throughout Westchester County.

We provide diapers to Westchester County Department of Social Services offices to support their staff for home visits and in times of emergency; we partnered with nonprofits, schools and child care centers who work directly with children and families in need to distribute diapers to individually identified infants and toddlers; and we include diapers to infants and toddlers in our Wardrobe Packs, the seasonal packs of clothing distributed through our Clothing Bank.

The Need:
Low-income families often struggle to provide sufficient diapers for their infants and toddlers. As a result, babies and toddlers are often left in soiled diapers for long periods, leading to discomfort, diaper rash, and other negative health consequences.

How You Can Help:
We accept donations of new diapers and wipes. The greatest demand is for sizes 5, and 6, and pull-ups. Donations may be dropped off at The Sharing Shelf or at the JLCW located at Wayside Cottage, 1039 Post Road, Scarsdale.
